Q. what’s the difference between a “casual user” and an cocaine addict?

A. There are different levels of cocaine addiction.

It becomes a problem when it adversely interferes with one's life. Often one is a 'problem user' when others are aware that there is some problem, but this type of drinker can have minimal insight into the total impact.

A cocaine addict is defined as somebody who uses despite awareness of associated negative consequences directly or indirectly related to its use.

There are usually many efforts that the addict has made to control, limit or eliminate overuse, and these are frequently unsuccessful. The outcomes can be devastating and are often accompanied by varying (and sometimes overwhelming) levels of denial that there is an issue at all.
